New product Y-site Connector C80
The Y-site Connector provides a dry connection port for an IV push without interfering with other ports that are in use. Its unique extension tubing has a permanently attached Connector that prevents accidental disconnections and leaks. The Y-site Connector is connected to the port closest to the patient. This provides for a closed and safe means of drug administration.

Continued Growth in Carmel Phama ab
Carmel Pharma showed a continued rise in sales during the first half of 2006. The invoice sales increased around 70 percent. The strong increase in turnover was partly due to the fact that sales of PhaSeal in USA were taken over under the company´s own direction on January 1. In USA the number of sold PhaSeal systems to end consumer increased by 35 percent. Currently 500 hospitals in the USA use PhaSeal for handling cytostatics, an increase of 100 hospitals during the first half of 2006.

Extended expiry dates
Expiry dates for all Protectors in the PhaSeal system have been increased from 2 years to 5 years. During the change-over period both 2-year and 5-year expiry dates might be seen.

New packaging system
In order to minimize the size of the PhaSeal system we are about to optimize the sizes of both user boxes and transport cases.
The number of products in each unit and the product number will remain the same. The change will be in the size of the units. The new packaging system will also change the number of products that will fit on a pallet. The new packaging will be introduced during the spring, starting with the Infusion Adapter C100.

New covers on Protectors
We are now changing the coloured covers for the Protectors. The colour coding will remain the same but the covers will become multifunctional. In addition to covering the needle during transportation and handling, they can also be used to cover the connection site during storage. The first product to have the new cover is Protector 50. Protector 14 and Protector 21 will be fitted with the new covers in late spring of 2006.
